Training workshop on
«Monitoring of Millennium Development Goals achievement in Uzbekistan:
conceptual and methodological approach»

On November 20-21, 2008 at the hotel "Poytaht" in Tashkent has been conducted third training workshop on «Monitoring of Millennium Development Goals achievement in Uzbekistan: conceptual and methodological approach». The target audience of this workshop was leading specialists of regional departments of line ministries and agencies in the Republic of Karakalpakstan, Khorezm, Syrdarya, Djizak and Tashkent regions.

The workshop has been initiated by UNDP funded “Statistical Capacity Building for MDG Monitoring and Reporting" Project.

The main objectives of the above workshop were to train representatives from partner government agencies in classification, methodology, data collection and dissemination, as well as to acquaint the participants with the methodological and conceptual issues of monitoring and evaluation of progress towards MDGs. Moreover, the Project team presented the results of recent studies conducted with MDG Statistics Project (report on “System of indicators for M&E MDG’s achievements in Uzbekistan") and Project’s other products (including statistical database and atlas of socio-economic indicators).
